Introduction
Why do we need to embed the evidence?
Step 4 in establishing and maintaining effective evidence-based practice is concerned with embedding the evidence into organisational processes and systems. By embedding the concept of best practice within the everyday culture, positive health outcomes can be achieved.

Who is this resource for?
The Manual Builder is designed for health organisations who wish to base their clinical decision support systems on the best available evidence. The service can save smaller organisations considerable resource related costs, and assist larger organisations to decrease variability in practice, improve the capacity to accurately measure practice outcomes and consequently the quality of care.
Do I have access to this resource?
Educational and corporate members of JBI have access to this resource, as do subscribers to JBI COnNECT. Users are provided with two individual passwords; a general user password and an advanced user password. General user access allows users to view and download manuals created by JBI and their organisation. Advanced users are also able to view and download manuals however they also have the ability to create, edit, delete and order practice manuals. Advanced access also provides users the
JBI Evidence-Based Manual Builder
The JBI Evidence-Based Manual Builder allows users to search through hundreds of evidence-based Recommended Practice and to select collections of Recommended Practice to form a practice manual for their facility/organisation. Each manual is automatically page-numbered and alphabetised and divided into appropriate categories. A cover page with the facility/organisation's name and logo (when submitted to JBI) is provided, as well as a table of contents and an introductory overview. Manuals are available in html and pdf formats and can be printed or uploaded to enhance organisational clinical decision support systems.
JBI Evidence-Based Consumer Pamphlet Builder *Coming Soon*
The Evidence-Based Consumer Pamphlet Builder is designed to assist health professionals utilise evidence-based information in their communication with patients/residents/clients regarding interventions and health and illness management issues. The builder allows users to customise information sheets by adding logos and specific instructions aligned to the clinician's/organisation's own requirements. Information sheets are in the form of a pamphlet and include sections on:
- What is evidence-based information?
- Evidence reliability
- What does this mean for patients/residents/clients?
- Further information
- Contact details
- General information about the topics
- Information regarding evidence to support various treatments/management options
- A summary of what the evidence suggests
- A glossary
