Applying the JBI Six-Step Approach to Evidence-Based Health and Aged Care

By applying the six essential steps of evidence-based health and aged care, that is:

Organisations and health professionals can establish, monitor and maintain evidence-based practice within the health and aged care sector. JBI COnNECT provides a gateway to everything users require to become informed service users.

The JBI Endorsement Program

The Joanna Briggs Institute recognises that the key to clinical practice improvement in health and aged care is the development of infrastructures and processes that promote, facilitate and measure engagement in an evidence-based approach to care and evaluate the relationship between such engagement on performance and patient/resident/client outcomes.

The Institute has approved a set of Endorsement Criteria that ensures a commitment to maintain and improve an evidence-based approach to service delivery:

JBI Endorsement is for an initial period of one (1) year; and subsequently, for periods of three years. JBI Endorsed Evidence-Based Organisations receive an endorsement plaque suitable for public display and are entitled to incorporate the "JBI Endorsed Evidence-Based Organisation" symbol on all materials.
